Serve

Scripture Union is an organisation made up of volunteers and staff.

There are lots of ways to serve, and lots of people to talk to
if you are not sure how to help.

Look on the "Workers" page to consider who best to offer your help to.

Here are some of the great ways you can serve God through Scripture Union:

Camps

• help as a leader or assistant/junior leader
• cook –the “ministry to the interior!”
• help recruit people to come on camps

Holiday programs

• help with a summer program in a primary school
• help with a mission in a rural/beach community

Local Chaplaincy Committee (LCC)

• be a personal supporter of the Chaplain
• be a representative of your church
• help with skills in chairing, minutes, fundraising etc

Behind the scenes help

• give a regular couple of hours, or an occasional half-day or so at the office, or to one of the SU workers
• help put together a monthly prayer sheet for SU, highlighting forthcoming events etc
• develop and maintain this website

Support your local chaplain or local SU worker

• Contact them to ask for Prayer Points
• Donate funds to build their support
• Ring or meet  with them to encourage them

Find/offer opportunities to share about Scripture Union and/or Chaplaincy

• at your local church
• at local/community groups, minister’s networks etc
• be a SU church rep, advocate

Promote SU resources, Bible Reading material, resources for children etc

• to chaplains
• to churches and Christian schools
• to children’s groups

Join the SU council and be involved in SU governance
