What do we do?

We facilitate the development of mission and ministry opportunities among children and their families in church programs, camps, school clubs and missions. We encourage ministry workers to focus on the inclusion of families wherever possible.

We act as resource people to those in ministry in local churches and with school chaplains who desire to offer quality programs to children. We enable them to aim high by offering relevant training and good resources.

We encourage ministry workers to develop skills and knowledge in the maintenance and growth of their existing programs and to begin new ones. We encourage them to network with other like-minded people in similar ministries and from other organisations to share these skills and knowledge.

We schedule training events for specific needs, both church-based and school-based. Our goal is to see ministry workers confident and competent in the running of their programs.

We work in partnership with volunteers who are passionate in their work with children and families. We celebrate with them in their various ministries and offer training and resources to equip them further in their programs.

We ensure that high levels of safety and care practices are achieved in all Scripture Union ministries in accordance with ChildSafe.

We encourage opening the Bible in appropriate ways as an integral part of all Scripture Union activities.
